Transport in Nainital
Auto rickshaw
Nainital provides the services of a few cycle rickshaws that can be found around town. The rates are set at 10 Rs from one side of the Mall to the other if you choose not to walk the strip.
Taxi and Car
Nainital’s roads provide easy transportation, with taxis being the primary method of travel. Rental cars are also available – note that vehicles touring Mall Road must pay a toll of 25 INR until 3:00PM and 50 INR during hours after.
Walking
The Mall Road is a great place for tourists to stroll casually during exploration of the unique shops and quiet hill station. Most destinations are easiest access by foot. The smooth pavements and scenery make for a pleasant time, and streets are nil of hustle and bustle. During the summer season (peak tourist time), roads deny traffic or vehicles along the Mall from 6:00PM to 9:00PM.
